The Self-Recovery Ladder is a life-saving device for fishermen operating vessels independently or with limited crews.
Its intended use is for casualties who have fallen overboard to enable them to climb back onto the vessel easily and independently.
The Fibrelight Self Recovery Ladder is in a burst-zip bag attached to the vessel's side.
An adjustable cord allows the ladder to be pulled from the bag by
a user who has fallen overboard, the bottom of the ladder falls into the water, and the casualty can climb back into the
vessel without further assistance.
The ladder has been designed for use by a single person and
can be deployed in seconds. The ladder has a width of 600mm (23.6")
and is manufactured in half-meter lengths from 1 to 3 meters.
The ladder has no mechanical moving parts and requires no maintenance other than visual inspections.
The rungs are made of 13mm (1/2") Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), although the bottom rung is made of
stainless steel so the ladder sinks to a level in line with the user’s foot.
The Fibrelight Self-Recovery Ladders are
constructed using GRP rods enclosed in flanged
tubular webbing, creating a solid structure.
The ladders exceed the ISO 799 strength test, part of the SOLAS approval program.
The Fibrelight Self-Recovery Ladder has been successfully tested for thermal
aging, weathering, UV light, and oil resistance.
A white self-recovery ladder has been developed for super yachts. Contact us for information on this item.
