The standard D5 Work/Rescue Descender has proven to be popular for the North American Fire & Rescue and Tower Climbing markets, which typically use 1/2" ropes. Feedback from highly qualified and experienced 'Pro' users highlighted a demand for a device that does not incorporate a panic-brake function. Enter the D5PRO! The D5PRO Descender is the same great Work/Rescue Descender but without the panic brake.

This can be beneficial on longer descents and in rescue/belay applications, where a broader 'sweet spot' is welcomed. As the D5PRO does not incorporate a panic brake, it is impossible for the device to fully meet the NFPA and ANSI Standards criteria. The D5PRO is fully certified to EN 12841 (a panic brake is not a critical criterion of this standard).

Easily controls 500 lbs loads. The side plate closes with a low-profile, spring-loaded safety catch. Simple, functional design. It can be placed onto the rope without removing the rigging carabiner. Rotate right to descend or lower load. It can be used for progress capture in hauling systems and allows rapid conversion between raising and lower.
