Ruth Lee Ligature Rescue Training Manikin - RLNLAW/TOR

In high-risk environments or institutions which house vulnerable people, such as Mental Health Hospitals, Learning Disability Centers, Police Stations, Prisons, and Care Homes, suicide by hanging is tragically high. Staff who might face and need to manage suicides and self-harm regularly need the correct training to manage this safely. Training includes the use of a hook knife to release a ligature properly, and this specialist manikin has been designed to allow teams to learn to effectively and sensitively manage this situation.

This manikin has anatomical features that allow you to practice airway management skills to revive someone who has been found hanging.

SPECIAL MATERIALS:The manikin overalls are constructed from the same flame retardant material used in Police ballistic/stab vests, offering four times the strength and abrasion resistance of 16 oz canvas or P.V.C. (conforms to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, BS EN ISO 12947-2 & 14116: 2008) High-density polypropylene webbing (25 mm rated to 207 Kg, 50 mm rated to 440Kg).

FEATURES & BENEFITS:

The manikin has anatomical landmarks, including the sternum, rib cage, and substernal notch. The trainer also contains teeth, uvula, vocal cords, glottis, epiglottis, larynx, arytenoid cartilage, trachea, esophagus, inflatable lungs, and stomach. It allows for the placement of a nasogastric tube and accepts CombitubeÂ®, E.O.A., E.G.T.A., P.T.L., and i-gelÂ® airways.

Realistic knee joints promoting correct manual handling techniques, including preservation of the C-spine.

Special D-ring feature enables easy suspension without damaging the manikin.

TechNOTE - Ruth Lee Training Manikin Coveralls

Ruth Lee is the only manikin manufacturer that provides clothing with their products. All Ruth Lee Rescue Training Manikins include coveralls. Manikins 44 lbs and up also include lug sole boots. None is found on Bullex products, and Simulaids only adds thin gym shorts. While the strength-reinforced coveralls protect the manikin, they are NOT deemed Wear-proof. Their specific design is to provide a replaceable, washable layer that helps protect the manikin. The coveralls are designed to wear and must be replaced to protect the manikin carcass. Use of the manikins should mimic that of dragging a similarly dressed victim. The wear resistance of the coveralls should be considered on par with clothing usually worn by the victims. The included coveralls protect the manikin when used during rescue training. The coveralls are not designed to endure the rigors of firefighter drags or physical agility training. The coveralls and boots should be seen as disposable items and replaced when showing signs of wear or damage to protect the main body of the manikin. Additional clothing is suggested for use in these activities (Even the Combat Challenge dresses their manikins in turnout Gear for this competition). Treat the coveralls as clothing. They are NOT wear-proof. Protect your investment.
