HARNESS SERVICE LIFE

The life of a harness depends on the frequency and the environment in which it is used.

Maximum Shelf Life and Service Life: 10 years
Maximum Service Life: 5 years (additional 2 years if inspected by Rescue Technology)

Service Life may be shortened by Wear and Tear.

Inspect harness before and after each use. We recommend a complete inspection every 3 months.
Check for:
Webbing: Cuts, tears, abrasion and damage caused by use, heat, chemicals or anything else that may affect the integrity of the web.
Stitching: Cut, torn, worn or loose threads.
Metal Components: Proper function of the buckles.

Anchorage of the fall arresting system should be above the position of the user, minimum Anchor Strength: 5,000 lbf.

The position of the Anchor point is crucial for fall arrest; the height of the fall; rope elongation or pendulum movement of user should be considered in order to avoid all obsticles. (e.g. ground, structures, etc.)

Knowledge of basic rescue techniques is required to use this product.
